Erasmus Medical Centre (EMC) in Rotterdam is an academic hospital where Mijksenaar was commissioned for regrouping the entrance area in cooperation with Merkx+Girod architects.
In addition to creating the waysigning design Mijksenaar played a major role as a consultant in the process of improving the flows the entry area.
By rearranging certain elements of the interior and enlarging the walking areas by repositioning walls, fields of vision (or sight lines) in the area were significantly improved.
In the next phase, Mijksenaar also designed the signage.
